This post is for this week and will cover spring break as well (I will count it toward April blogs). I found this article on the heals of our past post, and I found it very interesting. It describes how social media is affecting the way people receive news. Is this a good thing? It makes an interesting parallel with iTunes, which I am not even sure you all realize was such a big deal at one time (look into to the whole Napster thing from around 1999/2000ish and you will see what I mean). What are your thoughts????

Here is an interesting look at "reality" as defined by social media. An interesting experiment that makes some strong comments about how people shape themselves on the internet. What do you think? (Thank you, Zahra, for the idea)

This week, your task is to write three haiku poems. Here is a link to help you with the rules for writing in haiku: http://grammar.yourdictionary.com/style-and-usage/rules-for-writing-haiku.html
Have fun!!!! "This post is about short stories. Really short. Only some of them in language arts. Ernest Hemingway once wrote a short story using only 6 words: 'For sale: baby shoes, never worn.'
It is said that the story was the result of a bet with friends—who paid up. Hemingway thought it was one of his best." Your job for this blog post is to get creative and create your own 6-word story and then read and respond to your classmates' stories. Here is a link that has several examples and were I pulled the above text: http://creativiteach.me/2012/10/07/6-word-challenges/ If you Google 6-word stories, you will get over 100,000 hits, so if you need more inspiration or examples, go wild. |
