Your entry should be a little longer than mine--I just wanted to give you a taste (see what I did there?).
This post requires two parts: describe your favorite break (spring or winter) and describe your dream break (one that you have not taken, but dream of taking). For example, my favorite spring break was when I was in 5th grade. I traveled to Boca Raton with a friend and stayed at his family's house. Over the course of the week, we went to the Miami Open tennis tournament, where I watched Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras play; hit up Disney World; played on the beach; attended a spring training baseball game; and went to a drive through safari-type zoo where an ostrich attacked our car. My dream break would be to take a culinary-expedition through France. I love cooking and eating, and France is the food Mecca. I went to Italy about 10 years ago and had an amazing experience, so I would like to do the same thing in France. Of course, this would include several days in Paris to explore the cafes, restaurants, and museums, but I would also want to go to the smaller towns throughout the countryside to experience the culture.

Watch this short Ted Talk on obscure words to describe emotions. In your response, name an obscure word that you like. Also, what word is missing from the English language? Make up a word and provide the definition.
http://www.ted.com/talks/john_koenig_beautiful_new_words_to_describe_obscure_emotions/transcript?language=en I have done this one before, and I really like it. I am going off of the website, sixwordstories.net, and here is how they describe it:
Stories told in just six words.Brevity is a virtue. This is a collection of short short stories consisting of just six words. It was inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s famous challenge and first six word story, “For sale: baby shoes, never worn. I want you to compose 4 6-word stories (you create four of these on your own in one post), and then respond to two other people per usual. I challenge you to be creative and have different types of stories for your four (scary, sad, happy, thought-provoking, silly, etc). There are sample stories at the website above. Have fun! |
